Job Seeker Programme – Job Search Support in New Zealand

Get tailored job search support in New Zealand. Aspiring Immigration refers you to independent job seeker advisers to help you connect with NZ employers.

  • Job Seeker Programme – Support for Your New Zealand Job Search

Securing the right job is often a key step in making your New Zealand immigration project a reality.
As an intending migrant, it can be difficult to know where to start: different CV standards, unfamiliar job boards, and employers who may not understand visa options.

At Aspiring Immigration, I do not work as a recruiter, but I can refer you to an independent job seeker adviser who specialises in helping migrants understand the New Zealand labour market and approach employers with confidence.

This job seeker programme is completely separate from my immigration advice services, but it is designed to complement your visa strategy and give you the best possible chance to move forward.

  • What the Job Seeker Programme Can Offer

When you are ready to explore employment opportunities in New Zealand, the job seeker programme and its independent recruitment professionals can provide:

Support and reassurance when you know you need a job to move forward
You will receive guidance from professionals who understand both the New Zealand job market and the challenges international candidates face. Their role is to clarify your options and help you focus your efforts.

Referral to recruitment professionals who review your profile at no initial cost
Your CV and background are assessed by independent recruitment advisers. This first review is usually free of charge and helps determine whether they can assist you further in your search.

Clear direction for your next steps in the NZ job market
You will receive practical guidance on where to look for roles (job boards, employer types, regions) and how to position yourself, so you are not wasting time on unsuitable opportunities.

A suggested New Zealand–style CV template
You will be provided with a New Zealand-style CV format and guidance on what employers expect to see. This can make a significant difference to how your application is perceived.

Ongoing employment support and job offer guidance
Where possible, the independent advisers can:

    - Help you respond to job ads more effectively

    - Provide direction on how to approach employers

    - Assist you to understand and finalise the job offer once an employer is interested

Please note: only you can ultimately secure the job – but having structure, feedback, and support can make a challenging period much easier to manage.

  • How Aspiring Immigration Fits In

My primary role as a New Zealand Licensed Immigration Adviser is to:

    - Assess which visa options could be available to you

    - Explain the immigration implications of working for a New Zealand employer

    - Prepare and lodge your visa application, where you engage me to do so

Once your job search becomes more concrete and actual job negotiations begin, I can:

    - Review the proposed job offer and employment agreement from an immigration perspective

    - Advise you whether the position appears suitable for your intended visa category

Coordinate with you and, where appropriate, your employer to make sure the immigration side is properly supported

This way, your employment offer and your visa strategy work together, rather than against each other.

  • Important Notes and Independence

To remain fully compliant and transparent:

    - Aspiring Immigration does not operate as a recruitment agency and does not receive a commission from employers for placing candidates.

    - Any job seeker adviser or recruitment professional you work with is independent from Aspiring Immigration.

    - There is no guarantee of employment. The final decision always rests with employers, and results depend on your profile, the labour market, and your own efforts.

My role is to guide you on the immigration side and, where helpful, signpost you to reputable independent professionals who may support your job search.

  • Who This Programme Is For

This programme may be a good fit if you:

    - Intend to move to New Zealand and need a job offer for a work or residence visa

    - Feel unsure about how to present your experience to New Zealand employers

    - Want your CV and job search strategy aligned with your visa pathway

    - Prefer to have professional support rather than navigating the process entirely on your own

If you are not yet ready to apply for roles, we can first schedule an immigration consultation to clarify which visa categories may be realistic for you and what type of job you should be targeting.

  • Next Steps

    If you would like to:

    - Discuss your visa options and understand how employment fits into your immigration plan; and/or

    - Request a referral to an independent job seeker adviser in New Zealand,

    you can:

    - Book a consultation with Aspiring Immigration (online video call)

    - Or contact me via email or contact form with a brief summary of your profile and your current situation

Together, we can build a clear and realistic pathway that includes both immigration strategy and job search support, so that you are not facing this transition alone.
