Some of the most common STUDENT visas in new zealand

  • FEE PAYING STUDENT VISA

    This visa allows you study at any level of education. You will need an offer of education from an approved education provider and you will need to agree to pay the tuition fees.

  • EXCHANGE STUDENT VISA

    This visa allows you to study full time for up to 4 years in an approved student exchange scheme.

  • FOREIGN GOVERNMENT SUPPORTED STUDENT VISA

    This visa allows you to study full time for up to 4 years if you have a foreign government loan or scholarship.

  • PATHWAY STUDENT VISA

    With this visa you may study up to 3 consecutive courses in New Zealand on a single student visa, for a maximum of 5 years. You may also be able to work while you study.

  • DEPENDENT CHILD STUDENT VISA

    You want your child to go to primary or secondary school in New Zealand while you’re working or studying here. Only children of certain kinds of visa holders are eligible for this visa, so you’ll need to check you have an appropriate work or student visa before you apply.

    A dependent child can be treated as a domestic student, which means you don’t have to pay tuition fees for them to go to school.

    A dependent child can stay for the same length of time as their parent’s visa.
